In the process of dealing with after-sales feedback, we often encounter customers' feedback on the poor quality of the vehicle's paintwork.

Therefore the factory should pay attention to the following key points when spraying the paintwork in order to ensure the quality:

Selection of suitable paints

Select the right paint according to the required performance characteristics, such as gloss, colour, weather resistance, etc., to ensure that the spraying effect meets expectations.

Surface preparation

Ensure that the surface of the object to be sprayed is clean, free of oil, rust or other impurities. Proper surface preparation can improve the adhesion of the coating.

Spraying Techniques

Master the correct spraying techniques, including maintaining the proper distance and angle of the spray gun, controlling the spraying thickness, and avoiding uneven spraying or hanging phenomena.

Drying and Curing

Follow the drying time and curing conditions in the coating instructions to ensure that the coating is completely dry and cured to avoid coating quality problems.

Environmental factors

Keep the painting environment clean to avoid dust and pollutants affecting the quality of the coating film. Control indoor temperature and humidity to avoid spraying under extreme temperature and humidity conditions.

Safety and Protection

Wear suitable protective equipment such as masks, gloves and glasses to prevent paint splashing and inhalation of hazardous fumes during the painting process and follow all safety regulations and operating procedures.

By strictly observing the above operating procedures, the quality of sprayed paint finish can be effectively improved.

Problems that may occur with metallic paint spraying and how to deal with them are as follows:

1. Blooming or discolouration of the top coat

This may be caused by too fast or insufficient evaporation of thinner, or poor atomisation during spraying. Make sure the metallic paint is well mixed, use the right thinner and pay attention to the spraying method.

2. Surface sagging

Sagging usually occurs when the viscosity of the paint is insufficient, resulting in the coating not fully adhering to the surface. Reducing the thickness of each application or adjusting the amount of thinner can solve this problem.

3. Orange peel effect

Orange peel is caused by too high viscosity of paint or too fast evaporation of thinner. The solution is to reduce the viscosity, adjust the composition of the thinner or add slow-drying thinner, and adjust the amount of oil and air flow of the spray gun.

4. Bite the bottom

Bite the bottom occurs in the bottom layer of paint is not completely dry on the construction of the second layer, or the use of paint mismatch. Wait for the bottom layer of paint to be completely dry before applying the top coat, and make sure the bottom and top coat are matched.

5. Blistering

Blistering may be caused by the coating being too thick, making it difficult for solvents to evaporate, or air being trapped into the coating during painting. The solution is to ensure that the water content of the base meets the specification requirements, the coating should not be sprayed too thick at one time, and the blistered coating should be removed thoroughly.

6. Pinhole

Pinholes are small holes on the surface of the paint film, which may be caused by too high viscosity of the paint, high temperature and humidity at the construction site or too much air in the paint. Adjust the viscosity of the paint appropriately, leave it for some time before use, and keep the construction environment clean and dry.

7. Dust and pollution

The paint surface may be wrapped with dust or other pollutants, which is usually caused by unclean spraying environment or impure compressed air. Keep the paint shop clean, change the filter material regularly and make sure the compressed air is clean.

8. Sagging and bubbling

Sagging and bubbling may be caused by low viscosity of paint, uneven mixing, too thick a coating or too close spraying distance. These problems can be avoided by adjusting the viscosity of the paint, controlling the spraying distance and speed, and ensuring that the coating is not too thick.

These common problems can be prevented by carefully controlling the individual parameters and environmental conditions of the spraying process.
